SMALL FARM, BIG IDEAS
Wild BY Nature Farm
Regenerative Farming at our family farm in The Black Mountains.
Great farming underpins everything that we do.
At Wild by Nature we farm primarily for flavour, selecting traditional breeds that are best suited to our environment and giving them the time to mature and develop naturally. All of our cattle and sheep are 100% pasture fed.
We manage our livestock in a way that increases biodiversity and allows for natural regeneration of soil. This ethos also applies to our no dig vegetable garden and apple orchards.
Our aim is to control as much of the process from farm to plate as possible and we are extremely fortunate to have our on-farm butchery where we can dry age our meat and produce our range of home cured charcuterie. This nose to tail approach means that no part of the animal is wasted.
Farming with Nature
We farm in a way that respects natural cycles, promoting the regeneration of diverse ecosystems and healthy soils.
Up on our hills, our native breeds live and graze as they would have done in the wild, on meadows and pasture that grows lush and bountiful with minimal intervention. Below, our gardens, hedgerows, native woodlands, and rivers are abundant with produce and life.
Nose to Tail
Our animals are native breeds selected for flavour and suitability to the hills where they reside. We understand that the food we produce starts as life, and should be treated with the utmost care and respect, given time to grow and mature naturally.
We practice a nose-to-tail approach when preparing our animals in our on-farm butchery. From our dry-aged cuts to the charcuterie that we cure to the glorious fats that we render into dripping, nothing is wasted.
Black Mountains Hospitality
At Wild by Nature we create food and experiences that connect us to the natural world, In a way that reflects the raw simplicity and timeless, unchanged nature of the Black Mountains. We believe that great food should be rooted in place and culture.
